I despair at the cowardliness of our politicians and public servants that they do not have the balls to stick to the proven values of colour blind honesty and justice. At least then it is easier for everyone to see when it doesn't happen. Nowadays there are absolutely no standards of integrity against which anything can be judged. Who believes a single word of any canting press release or ministerial statement?

I ask once again: Why are political groups representing factional or racial interests allowed to exist within a public body, which should, by all written and conceived tenets, remain colour-blind and apolitical in the discharge of it's duties? Until these cabals are proscribed, as they once were, then this sort of farcical situation will arise, time an time again. It is sheer madness and was exacerbated by the McPherson Report that castigates 'colour blind policing' as a concept. Positive discrimination incites racism where it previously did not exist. The evil that emantates from it is worse than the discrimination of stupid or ignorant bigots, because it masquerades under the camouflage of public good while fomenting racial hatred - or at the very least, justified resentment. Caving in to this kind of racial blackmail is a craven cop-out and is becoming a well organised racket. It amounts to a fraud on public funds. Why are the lawyers who advise the Commissioner allowing this to happen? Because they are cowards! It is beyond a scandal, it is a criminal catastrophe that should raise a furore of media condemnation, but it does not. Perhaps the TV super-sleuth who infiltrated the Greater Manchester Police Training establishment should try conning his way into the Black Police Association. I wonder if he might just find some unpleasant obverse racial nuggets there? And I wonder whether he would have the guts to report it if he did? Or find any TV Medium to broadcast it?

Another example of the PC tilt in London's Metropolitan Police can be found in it's Diversity Directorate. A recent poster campaign highlighted domestic violence. Every abuser was depicted as male for a crime that, unusually, has a high proportion of female offenders (the 2001/02 British Crime Survey (BCS) found 19% of domestic violence incidents were reported to be male victims with just under half of these being committed by a female abuser. The police also have an Islamophobia poster but no anti-Semitism poster. Attacks on Jews (incl. synagogues vandalised and people stabbed) are far more prevalent than equivalent Islamophobic incidents.
