Morality of war

Thanks to an article in FrontPage magazine for this poignant and telling riposte to the Israeli pilot refuseniks from a father grieving for his son killed in action. Somehow one can't see this being reported in Britain.

Its rather ironic that while an antisemitic world tries to paint the Jews as the aggressor in their own persecution, the only real blame that lies with Israel is her pacifist streak.

I can't understand why Israel would want to try and placate its enemies, because they so blatantly will never be placated. Neither can I understand Israel's withdrawl policy or her determination to try and make peace with terrorists whose only aim in life is to destroy Israel.

After 55 years of bending over backwards and trying to give away Judea and Samaria, surely its time Israel understood that the land isn't hers to give away. It is God's land and He gave it to the Jews in an everlasting covenant. I don't believe that God will ever allow a Palestinian state in Judea and Samaria no matter what Israel does.

No matter how professional and fair the IDF is they will always be potrayed awfully by much of the media. The world doesn't hate the Jews because of what they do, the world hates the Jews because of what they are - Gods chosen people.

With this in mind Israel should stop faffing around and start fighting back. If there is a suicide bomb on Saturday then there is usually an air strike on Sunday. Why? If the IDF knew where the terrorists where, they should have bombed them on Friday.

A day after the token air strike on Syria, Israel released a map showing the location of various terrorists in Syria. WHY? Syria has been waging a 55 year war of extermination against Israel in one form or another - what is the point of retaliating by blowing up an empty terror camp. When Israel struck Syria they should have bombed every target on that map on the same night. And when Israel strikes a car in the Gaza strip, they should simultaneously strike every terrorist whose location they are aware of.

No matter what Israel does in self-defence against the Arabs it will always be condemned by the world, so she might aswell stop trying to appease anyone and start fighting back properly. And yes, If the IDF know a terrorist is hiding in a civillian population, the priority should be the lives of their soldiers not the safety or civil liberties of the civillians who are harbouring the terrorists.

Most of all though Israel and in particular Ariel Sharon need to commit themselves to God's plan for his land, and understand that they cannot give away Judea and Samaria to terrorists.

"And I will give to you and to your descendants after you, the land of your sojournings, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God."
Genesis 17:7-8

"He remembers His covenant forever, the word He commanded, for a thousand generations, the covenant He made with Abraham, the oath He swore to Isaac. He confirmed it to Jacob as a decree, to Israel as an everlasting covenant: ‘To you I will give the land of Canaan as the portion you will inherit’"
Psalm 105:8-11

"And I will plant them upon their land, and they shall no more be pulled up out of their land which I have given them, saith the LORD thy God."
Amos 9:15
