Many people still think that claims of resurgent antisemitism in Britain are unwarranted. Many Jews who hate Ariel Sharon think that too. They might be advised to read this chilling post from the blog Jewish Comment to see how far things in Britain have gone.
I am SO glad my ancestors left the UK a century and a half ago!
That's simply appalling!
It was bad enough when anti-semitism was confined to the clubs and board rooms, but now it's apparently becoming rather fashionable.
How is this going to end?
Well if its any comfort, my wife and I (both gentiles) buy everything we can from Marks and Spencers purely because they trade with Israel. Indeed, she brought home some fruit last week and was extremely pleased with herself because not only had she bought it from Marks but it also had a sticker on saying it had come from Israel!
I would hope that Christians and Jews who go out of their way to shop at Marks go some way to counter balancing the people who refuse to shop there because of the Muslim lobby.
As for the antisemitism in Britain, I recently graduated from Newcastle University and every time I went past a notice board in the University I found myself pulling down pro-palestinian posters. I also had to endure stalls outside the union which promoted the "Palestinian cause", often it was all I could do not to run over and upturn them.
The socialists can usually be found on northumberland street, often with some Palestinian posters as well. My friend was stopped by one of them before the war and asked to sign some sort of petition about Iraq, to which he replied "I think we should kill them all". I'm sure you can picture their faces.
Tom Paine takes comfort that his ancestors left Britain sometime back. He does no say where. If it was North America, then perhaps he need reminding that there is anti-semitism in North America as well. But like in Britain, the overt anti-semitism is coming from Muslim immigrants or their descendents.
My grandparents took in 2 jewish families evacuated from Germany during WW2. They had a small shop in somerset with a couple of spare rooms and were proud to have done something to help. My mother, who was just a young girl at the time, remembers them well and helped them with their English. By coincidence, my grandfather was serving in the forces in Palestine immediately after the war and he was appalled at the way the Palestinians were being forcibly removed from their land.
For many years now, my mother will not buy anything that contributes to the Israeli economy on the simple principle that she would be helping an apartheid state which is illegally occupying Palestinian land.
She has nothing against jews, but everything against the israeli state.
And as for me - well I am the one that puts those annoying stickers on the fruit counters whenever I see israeli produce.

NB
Odd that this person, who says her mother has nothing against the Jewish people, refuses to capitalise the words 'Jew' and 'Israel', but does follow the protocols for 'Germany'. I suspect that this writer is suffering not so much from compassion for Palestinians but rather from Poujadism, the malaise that affects the offspring of small shopkeepers who couldn't compete with the quality of product sold at M&S.
Ever since arriving here some years ago from the USA I never stop hearing from British men aged 70-plus about the horrible Jews mistreating the Arabs and the British forces in 1946-47. In the USA we celebrate the triumph of the spirit of a people nearly annihilated 1933-1945 who through sheer toil turned a desert that had lain fallow for centuries into an orchard in a few years. Lest we forget that the Arab nations sided with Hitler in WWII and the Mufti helped in Berlin to recruit Muslims for the German forces. If the Jewish refugees settled there at their expense those are the sploils of war. Imagine the fate of the Arabs had the Soviets been given Palestine after the War.......
Just further proof what a miserable cesspool of Nazi Jew-hatred your whole f**king continent is.
Hell, they're probably pissed that the Americans didn't take MORE time to liberate Europe, so Hitler could have killed even more Jews.
300,000 Americans died to "liberate" Europe, when it now looks like they were perfectly happy with the Nazis and their Jew-hatred.
Well all I can say to that despicable excuse for a continent is "Have fun soon under Sharia Law". You deserve it.
I agree with the person from Newcastle University. I was given a leaflet from one of those left wing idiots at Earl Greys Monument in Newcastle and I tore it up in his face. Americans should be in no doubt that the majority of British people are not anti-semetic and would rather stand shoulder to shoulder with America. The trouble is that the left wing rules in Britain and most of these MPs are pro Palastinian. I refer to people like George Galloway and Jeremy Corbyn these are the people that get all the press. I for one am deepley concerned at the rising tied of islamic fundamentalism in Britain caused by the stupid immigration policy of the Labour Government. There is also a policy here that has recently come into effect that it is now a criminal offence to say anything bad about ethnic minorities, although they can say anything they like with impunity- that is why you only see one side of the picture thier in the USA.
I for one respect our special relationship with the US but I'm afraid that soon we will probably lose that relationship because of the reasons outlined above. For the record I try to avoid whenever I can bying goods from Asian shops in Britain - but maybe in time someone will tell the authorities and I will be prosecuted for inciting racial hatred. One favour the US could do for Britain is to invade our country and put some freedom back into our lives
